The magnificent castle 'Tielenhof', surrounded by wide moats, is located just outside the village center of Tielen (Kasterlee) on a beautiful piece of land of approximately 2 hectares.
This castle was the residence of the lords of Tielen since 1342. For 700 years, it has been inherited by various noble families until it was sold for the first time in 1958. The castle dates back to the 14th century and is built in traditional brick and sandstone style. It was transformed into a summer residence, with some adjustments made to the taste of the time in the 1830s. In 1969, the castle was restored and has been inhabited by the current owner since then. The castle, along with its outbuildings, includes a U-shaped planned construction with a farmhouse, currently serving as a party space that was extensively renovated in 1975. There is also a connecting building to the gatehouse with remains of the former drawbridge, the 17th-century coach house, and the castle itself. Additionally, there is a whitewashed 19th-century bakehouse on the property.
