In the southernmost district of the City of Antwerp, we find the Heilig Hartkerk in Hoboken on Krugerstraat. A fantastic church that has been empty for several years. This location is super central near the center of Hoboken and the green Hoboken Polders. The city center of Antwerp can be reached in no time by public transport, access roads and the cycle path.
There are two possible project proposals:
1) preservation of the church
The total area to be developed is about 2,900m² (LOT 1 + LOT 3b). The part behind the church (LOT 3e) and a free zone next to the presbytery (LOT 3f) will be transferred to the city of Antwerp, which will create a green zone here in the future as a neighborhood park and partly as a playground for the elementary school De Puzzel. The typology of the church building should be preserved. at No. 109 may be demolished.
2) demolition of the church
This unique plot to be developed has an area of 1,288m² (LOT 1). The house on No. 109 may be demolished. The buyer must demolish the entire church and therefore also the portion on LOT 3b.
LOTS 3b + 3e + 3f will be transferred to the City of Antwerp partly for green zone and partly for playground for the elementary school De Puzzel.
The project offers enormous potential! Furthermore, the project must meet some conditions and everything will also be judged by a jury.
