The original construction with stacked stones was beautifully preserved. When renovating ('12-'13), the current owners were inspired by John Pawson's minimalist architecture: back to basics, according to modern ecological requirements. This pared-down elegance, where wood and stone predominate, feels very natural and beneficial - a treat for the eye as well as the soul. Less is obviously more here.
